About the role:

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Support the Manager of Technology and Innovation leads the Information Technology (IT) team in delivering innovative reliable and high-quality technology solutions and internal service delivery. This role is pivotal in aligning technological initiatives with Wuchopperens strategic objectives and ensuring the organisations information management needs are met effectively.

Key Focus Areas:

1. Strategic IT Project Delivery:

Lead the planning execution and evaluation of IT projects that enhance organisational performance digital capability and service innovation.

2. Data Governance & Business Intelligence:

Oversee the integrity security and strategic use of organisational data including client information systems such as Communicare and other programmatic platforms.

3. Technology Roadmap & Infrastructure:

Develop and implement a forward-looking technology roadmap that ensures scalable secure and resilient IT infrastructure aligned with future organisational needs.

4. Governance & Compliance:

Establish and maintain a robust governance framework ensuring compliance with legislation cybersecurity standards and quality frameworks.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive Wuchopperens digital transformation agenda providing expert leadership in IT strategy enterprise architecture and innovation planning.
  • Develop and maintain risk-based IT policies and procedures in step with best practice and aligned with ISO/IEC 27001 ISO 9001:2015 RACGP and HSQF standards embedding innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Build a high-performing IT team culture that embraces agile methodologies continuous learning and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Oversee the delivery of IT services cloud platforms and digital projects ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and user-centric design.
  • Drive strategic vendor partnerships to enhance service performance value and innovation.
  • Implement advanced data analytics capabilities to support evidence-based decision-making performance reporting and compliance with funding body requirements.
  • Lead business process transformation initiatives including automation system integration (e.g. Communicare Quality Management Systems) and data interoperability.
  • Monitor and report on IT performance metrics including service delivery cybersecurity incidents and system uptime contributing to strategic reviews.
  • Participate in organisational and community initiatives that support the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • Ensure adherence to Wuchopperens policies including Workplace Health & Safety Staff Code of Conduct and contribute to ongoing quality improvement.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required consistent with skills and organisational needs.

Core Capabilities:

For applicants to be successful in this role they should demonstrate:

  1. Proven strategic leadership in IT and digital transformation including experience managing enterprise systems cloud migration cybersecurity frameworks and the development of scalable secure IT environments in complex organisations.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures from an historical and contemporary perspective including the ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply risk-based thinking innovation and develop emerging technologies (e.g. AI automation data analytics) to improve service delivery and organisational resilience.
  4. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and advocate for digital equity and inclusion.
  5. Extensively developed interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise with and effectively advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively managing competing priorities sensitive information and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  7. Demonstrated ability to meet and work within the core values and behaviours of Wuchopperen.

Qualifications and experience:

A relevant Bachelor level degree qualification and at least five years experience relevant to the position is mandatory.

Requirements:

  • Hold a current Blue Card (for suitability to work with children and young people).
  • Proof of qualifications is required to be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • Possess a current drivers licence.
  • A commitment to adhere to Wuchopperens policies and procedures.
  • Successful applicant to consent to a broader Criminal history check
  • Undergo and Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check
