Job Description
MalaceHR is seeking a skilled and experienced Operating Engineer to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate maintain troubleshoot and repair facility equipment across various systems. As an Operating Engineer you will demonstrate technical expertise in one craft area (Electrical HVAC Piping/Plumbing Central Utility Plant Operations) while being multi-skilled in other areas to complete daily and weekly work assignments efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs:
Perform maintenance repairs and troubleshooting on Mechanical Plumbing Structural Furniture Fire Life Safety and Control systems to ensure all facilities and building systems meet applicable standards. -
Facility Services and Operations:
Oversee facility services preventative maintenance programs purchasing inventory control contracted maintenance and general facility upkeep. -
HVAC and Equipment Maintenance:
Maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment by cleaning inspecting calibrating and replacing parts to ensure optimum performance. Monitor system performance and make necessary adjustments for efficient operation. -
Safety and Compliance:
Comply with departmental policies regarding the safe storage use and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to safety procedures and identifying hazards to mitigate risks. -
Contractor Oversight:
Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by external contractors ensuring work meets company standards. -
Inventory and Tools Management:
Periodically check and manage tools and instrument inventory to ensure availability and readiness for ongoing maintenance tasks.
Required Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. -
Experience:
8-10 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems with a strong focus on HVAC Plumbing Electrical or Mechanical systems. -
Technical Expertise:
Ability to analyze the operation of various commercial or industrial systems (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing HVAC) and determine the cause of malfunctions taking corrective action as needed. -
Certifications:
EPA 608 Type II Certification. -
Technical Skills:
Proficient in computer applications such as Word and Excel for documentation and reporting purposes.

EPA 608 Universal Certification. -
Education:
Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design refrigeration or HVAC. -
Additional Skills:
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
