Job Description

Description

The Manager International Tax Planning will join the international tax team at Fortive Corporation. You will report to the Director Global Tax Planning who will coach and mentor you as you continue to develop your foundation of skills across tax rules complex calculations and robust project management. You will provide integral responsibility to the team accountable for the preparation and review of various aspects of tax compliance with opportunities to support quarterly and annual provision work. Additionally you will work with the team to streamline existing processes drive best practices and play an important role as Fortive continues to acquire new businesses during an exciting time of growth and transformation.

  • Calculate model and document international attributes including Subpart F GILTI foreign tax credits FDII 163(j) and BEAT.
  • Maintain and update technical models including E&P tax basis and 987/988 foreign exchange gain and loss.
  • Assist with international aspects of income tax provision and financial statement reporting quarterly and annually.
  • Support OECD Pillar Two modeling provision work and compliance including but not limited to preparing GloBE information returns QDMTT IIR and QDMTT filings when appropriate.
  • Use technology tools such as Alteryx to automate and streamline recurring calculations and develop standard work for data collections.
  • Collaborate and provide ideas and support for tax planning strategies mergers and acquisitions and other special projects.
  • Perform tax research understand potential tax legislation and participate in scenario modeling.
  • Assist with US income tax and information reporting filings related to foreign companies within the worldwide group including forms8865 and disclosure statements.
  • Prepare and file miscellaneous IRS Forms such as residency certificates.

Qualifications & Certifications

  • Bachelors degree required preferably in accounting finance or related field
  • Masters in taxation or accounting preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • 5 years of progressive corporate or public accounting experience in multi-national corporate income tax.

Skills & Competencies

  • Experiencewith taxsoftware(e.g. CorpTax) MSFT Office Suite and efficiency tools (e.g. Power BI PlatformAlteryx) and software tools for financial data (e.g. Oracle SAP OneStream).
  • Comprehensive understanding of US income tax principles
  • Demonstrated understanding of key US international tax requirements.
  • Ability to translate income tax concepts / requirements into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to summarize facts and conclusions with willingness to explore statutory guidance to fully consider potential outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated history of seeking continuous improvement to processes
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact with finance teams throughout the organization.
  • Results-oriented technically-curious and values effective collaboration.
