Inaugural Business Office Fellow
As an important member of The Business Office Team reporting to the Assistant Controller The Business Office Fellow will support all accounting and finance operations for this vibrant thriving highly successful independent school. As the Berkeley Teaching Fellows Program has been wildly successful in the area of education it allowed The Business Office to create a one year (September 1 2025 through August 31 2026) full time fellow position. This position offers countless opportunities to gain experience in a professional work environment and be exposed to all aspects of the schools operations under great leadership. The successful candidate will be eager to learn display a growth mindset and consistently demonstrate a positive approach while learning and developing under the Assistant Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Support the well-developed month-end close process by preparing journal entries rollforwards and account reconciliations
- Assist with audit requests from external auditors
- Interface with budget managers as The Business Office point of contact
- Assist in process improvement and new software implementation i.e. AI initiatives as needed
- Special projects as needed
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables/vlookups)
- Team player willing to learn new tasks and be flexible
- Solid communication skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Compensation and Benefits:
This is a one year full time non-exempt salaried position from September 1 2025 through August 31 2026. The benefits package will include free housing breakfast and lunch on school days and opportunity to enroll in Berkeleys group benefit plans.
