About the Opportunity:
Veterans Engineering is seeking an experienced and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to supervise a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) as part of the Homeless Veterans Healthcare for Homeless Veterans (HCHV) Program at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center.
This contract role supports our nations Veterans by ensuring high-quality trauma-informed social services in compliance with VA standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision: Provide clinical supervision and oversight for the LMSW assigned to HCHV services.
Basic Services Oversight: Ensure Veterans referred for care receive appropriate support including:
Designated bed in a secure private room (no bed sharing).
Clean bedding storage space for personal belongings.
Meals & Nutrition: Monitor delivery of three daily nutritious meals and snacks in a socially engaging environment.
Laundry Access: Confirm Veterans have no-cost access to laundry facilities and supplies.
Therapeutic Services: Guide the implementation of individualized therapeutic and rehabilitative services based on treatment plans.
Treatment plans must be developed within 72 hours of admission with input from the Veteran and HCHV liaison.
All plans must be VA-approved.
Requirements:
Active LCSW license in New York State (unrestricted)
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role or in providing clinical oversight
Strong understanding of homeless Veteran populations trauma-informed care and community mental health resources
Experience with treatment planning documentation and interdisciplinary collaboration
Prior VA or federal healthcare experience is a plus
