JOB POSTINGPOSITION/TITLE:Adapted Physical Education Teacher/Adaptive Gross Motor Activities Instructor (Two Days/Week)PROGRAM/LOCATION:North River Collaborative Learning Center Program Locations (Easton West Bridgewater Pembroke)START DATE:August 25 2025 (2026 Summer Hours TBD)LENGTH OF POSITION:Eleven month schedule two days per week for the full school-year calendar and summer hours (six weeks) as SCHEDULE:Certified Teacher/Licensed TherapistQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree or higher in Physical Education Adapted Physical Education Special Education or related field. Associates degree in physical therapy License from the Massachusetts Board of Allied Health Professionals or Department of Elementary and Secondary Education .Evidence of current and ongoing professional or more years of school-based and/or pediatric experience TO:Coordinator of District ServicesEVALUATION: Staff evaluation will be implemented as outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies and Procedures RESPONSIBILITIES:INSTRUCTIONAL/DIRECT SERVICEPlan and implement gross motor groups or adaptive physical education as part of the NRC integrated service delivery direct instruction in the collaborative-based educational consultation to administrators instructional staff students and families regarding evidence-based practices for the development of students motor skills including recreation and leisure time effectiveness through observation data collection and communication with other staff members. Support students educational goals across school settings as opportunities construct and/or adapt equipment to meet the educational and recreational needs of the ensure the proper and safe use of positioning and mobility equipment and identify maintenance and/or replacement needs relative to gross motor an inventory of equipment and supplies and keep equipment and supplies clean and as a resource to students parents and staff members who wish to further their understanding of adaptive other duties as assigned. DOCUMENTATION EVALUATION AND COMMUNICATIONSubmit all written reports goals and objectives on a timely student attendance progress monitoring third-party billing and other documentation current and input for the development of department program or district budget as by established work hours and follow policies and procedures outlined in the North River Collaborative Personnel Policies & Procedures with parents as needed to help them better understand the role of the PT in the school setting including the students individual plan. Provide home suggestions when AND SAFETYRespond to the needs of individual students so as to enhance their social/emotional health and personal to situations in a culturally proficient manner taking into account a whole student training apply de-escalation strategies as necessary in order to prevent a student from harming themselves or others and safely perform physical escort and restraints as needed. Able to safely lift students up to 50 lbs independently and assist in lifting students up to 100 to physically assist students during activities such as transfers in/out of adaptive equipment and mechanical lifts and other tasks as to move with reasonable speed and physically assist students during any emergency drills or actual to safely and effectively participate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training if requested and to safely perform CPR as needed once DEVELOPMENTDevelop student learning and professional practice goals as indicated based on evaluation in Collaborative and/or member district program development or school-wide goals as in and keep a record of regular professional learning opportunities to stay current in evidence-based and participate in in-service training programs and department/program meetings as up to date on current technology for enhancing student success professional collaboration and a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students. Maintain professional attitudes and productive relationships with other staff and students parents and other professionals with constructively to feedback and goal oriented DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY THE PROGRAM COORDINATOR
