Job Description

Job Title: Purchasing Coordinator Residential Construction

Location: North Texas (DFW Metroplex) In office

Employment Type: Full-Time

As we continue to expand we are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Purchasing Coordinator to support our purchasing operations and play a key role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the construction process.

Job Summary

The Purchasing Coordinator will provide administrative and operational support to the Purchasing Department. This role ensures timely and accurate processing of purchase orders (POs) and extra purchase orders (EPOs) helps resolve invoice discrepancies and supports communication with vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process new purchase orders to initiate construction starts
  • Verify purchase order accuracy and ensure all POs reflect correct pricing vendor and scope details
  • Process extra purchase orders
  • Respond to emails regarding POs EPOs and invoice questions
  • Update POs/EPOs for vendor changes or price increases
  • Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies and ensure timely resolution
  • Support other team members with day-to-day purchasing activities
  • Understand community-specific vendors specifications and budgets to identify and correct errors
  • Maintain knowledge of and support operations within BuildTopia and supporting systems
  • Perform administrative and clerical functions as needed

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience in home building
  • 1 year of experience in purchasing preferably in residential construction
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Outlook and Word
  • Strong attention to detail organization and follow-through
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes quickly
  • Experience with ERP systems such as BuildTopia Hyphen BuildPro NewStar Enterprise or Brix is a plus
