About the Role:
The Lead - Scholarships is a pivotal program leadership position responsible for overseeing the entire strategy and operations of the Foundations Scholarship Programme. This role is crucial for ensuring the effective and impactful delivery of scholarship initiatives from strategic planning and application management to candidate selection and ongoing relationship building with partner institutions. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional in the social sector with a passion for education and a proven ability to manage large-scale programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Programme Strategy & Development: Develop refine and oversee the comprehensive strategy and operational framework for the Foundations Scholarship Programme.
- Application Process Management: Lead and manage the entire scholarship application lifecycle including outreach initial screening and final submission processes.
- Document Verification: Oversee the meticulous verification of candidate documents to ensure authenticity eligibility and compliance with program criteria.
- Evaluation & Selection Leadership: Lead the evaluation interview and selection processes for scholarship candidates ensuring fairness transparency and adherence to established guidelines.
- Stakeholder Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with partner educational institutes and interviewers fostering effective collaboration for the successful execution of the scholarship program.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Post Graduate Degree in any field related to the development sector.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the social sector.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing large-scale development projects.
- Specific experience in managing large scholarship programs is essential.
- International experience is highly valued.
- Functional Competencies:
- Thorough knowledge of the social sector and specialist expertise in one or more areas relevant to education or development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex programs.
