Summary:
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of essential functions related to the safe and efficient assembly distribution and service of meals for hospital patients staff and visitors. This role supports day-to-day food service operations while maintaining cleanliness safety and excellent customer service.
Essential Functions:
Attend department meetings in-services and training sessions as assigned.
Anticipate and respond to customer needs in a timely and professional manner.
Maintain the cleanliness of work areas and department equipment.
Demonstrate a friendly and positive attitude when interacting with patients staff and visitors.
Follow all HACCP food safety standards and hospital protocols.
Communicate concerns shortages or discrepancies to supervisors promptly.
Support department goals related to operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Work in various roles including the tray line cafeteria and kitchen stations.
Set up and stock food stations for meal service; assemble and deliver patient trays.
Clean and sanitize equipment stations and floors after each meal period.
May operate dish machines trash compactors and perform general cleaning tasks.
Prepare supplemental food items for patient tray service.
Participate in sanitation and cleaning projects as assigned by the manager.
Assist with the training and cross-training of new and existing employees.
