Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Radiology Technician for a travel job in Rochester New York. This individual will be responsible for producing high quality X-ray images by conducting exams in a safe and efficient manner. Verifies and follows referring providers orders while remaining in compliance with the Imaging Sciences departmental policies. Possesses a sound understanding of human anatomy as well as x-ray positioning and the use if immobilization devices when warranted.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares room and patient per order properly sets up equipment position patients and determine proper exposure factors in order to produce a high quality image.
- Utilizes electronic patient information systems to verify patient name date appropriate exam and any special exam specific comments from the provider.
- Understands and practices the Dual patient identifier procedure.
- Produces a diagnostic high quality image for interpretation by the Radiologist.
- Maintains accurate patient record keeping by properly identifying images and assuring images are sent to the PACS system correctly.
- Transfers patients to and from imaging tables using assistive devices such as ARJO lift transfer boards hover mats.
- Maintains appropriate supplies in the x-ray rooms.
- Completes and bills for studies accurately.
Qualifications:
- Completion of formal training in an approved school of Radiologic Technology required
- Maintains current NYS licensure and ARRT Certification required in compliance with NYS regulations
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- BLS (AHA/ARC)
- Experience using C-Arm/O-arm in the past 8 months
Hours:
- Monday-Friday - Days.
- Full Time - Hours may vary based on needs.
- No call and no holidays.
