Job Description
Position Summary:
The Medical Director position supports the PA Program Director in ensuring that both the didactic and clinical phases of the curriculum meet current best practice standards as they relate to the Physician Assistant role in the provision of patient care.
Position Responsibilities:
- Participating in the development and review of program competencies mission and goals and clinical and technical standards
- Participating in curriculum development and evaluation ensuring didactic instruction curriculum instruction and SCPEs meet current practice standards relevant to the PA role in providing patient care
- Participate as needed in program committees
- Participate in the ongoing assessment and evaluation of the program
- Participate in accreditation activities
- Provide instruction and evaluate student performance if assigned
- Precept students on clinical rotations if assigned
- Support the program in identifying potential sites for clinical rotations
Experience & Educational Background:
- Must be a currently licensed allopathic or osteopathic physician in NY State or with NY State eligibility
- Must be certified by an ABMS- or AOA-approved specialty board
