Job Description
As an Entry Level Application Specialist you will spray samples independently with guidance from the senior team members. You need to be capable to quickly learn polyurea and foam application procedures. You will support both polyurea and foam applications and traditional Protective and Marine coatings. Experience in maintenance of high-pressure coating pump equipment is a positive. You will support large-scale paint mixing and spray high-quality customer samples that satisfies both internal and external customers.
When spray is not scheduled you will conduct several types of coating testing data collection and reporting of results. Communicate with teammates about test results and observations and suggested ways forward. Travel is not typical but can be up to 10%.

Key Responsibilities:
Follow procedures and obtain quality results promptly. Communicate with technical team on application testing outcome and observations. Participate in product demonstration line trials and launch of new business.
Improve PPG growth by creating new launch opportunities by spraying customer samples (70%) and maintaining and operating equipment (30%).
Participate at customer sites to support line trials and launches.
Understand standard test methods and perform all testing across PMC paint markets with the guidance from senior members in the team.
Support senior team members to perform customer complaint verification root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
Host internal/external customer application training classes.
Communicate technical and application information to customers and team members.
Demonstrate proactive safety leadership. Identify safety-related improvement opportunities.
Participate in equipment and chemical database maintenance.
Safely use hazardous materials every day follow strict safety precautions and wear personal protective equipment including the use of respirators and Tyvek Coveralls when recommended by SDS and standard procedures.
Ensure compliance with all PPG policies and business strategies including EH&S business conduct code of ethics and all government regulations and laws.
Qualifications
Skills in maintenance of high pressure and other application equipment.
High School Diploma or Bachelors degree
Must have valid drivers license.
Can safely move 55-gallon drum after training by senior member.
Skills related to Polyurethane Or Polyurea Or Foam coating application.
Have experience in one or more successful product launch(es) with customer(s) in job history.
