Collins Engineers Inc. is looking for a motivated self-starter to join ourNorwood Massachusetts office as aConstruction Engineering - Project Manager. This role will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of construction engineering projects for local contractors such as temporary work trestle erection plans demolition plans support of excavation shoring cribbing control of water and steel or concrete structural repairs. This position offers creative individuals the space to thrive. Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently performs moderately difficult engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
  • Lead the planning analysis and delivery of construction engineering projects such as temporary work trestle erection plans demolition plans shoring cribbing support of excavation control of water etc. in accordance with project requirements.
  • Manage project scopes schedules budgets QA/QC processes and team coordination.
  • Serve as the primary client contact for contractors MassDOT MBTA municipalities and stakeholders.
  • Prepares complete engineering plans or reports.
  • Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Is active in technical societies such as ASCE AISC CMAA. WTS AREMA etc.
  • Responsible for moderately difficult engineering projects in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Participate in proposal writing fee development and client interviews.
  • Works directly with clients.
  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
  • Monitors project budgets.
  • Oversee and review calculations reports and memorandums.
  • Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Assists in proposal preparation project scoping estimating project costs project planning and project quality.
  • Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
  • Directs and supervises the work of entry-level engineers technicians drafters and administrative staff.
  • Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
  • Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

*Relocation is available

The base salary will be estimated between $130000 - $160000 plus bonuses and benefits and contingent on relevant experience.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelors degree and/or masters degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in construction engineering or management and the desire to expand or grow experience your project management and client management experience
  • Knowledge of MassDOT Bridge Manual AASHTO LRFD and permitting standards.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis softwares (STAAD RISA 3D Shoring Suite LPile) and CAD tools (Autodesk Civil 3D MicroStation)
  • Communication leadership and business development skills.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.)certification.
  • Valid drivers license.
