Software Engineer III - Quality Engineer

As a Software Engineer III - Quality Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Banking - Payment Technology & Digital Channel Engineering Team you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure stable and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firms business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Executes software solutions design development and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams including development product management and operations to ensure quality objectives are met.
• Develops and implements effective Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies for web applications with a focus on both manual and automated testing.
• Designs and oversees the execution of automated testing frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
• Ensures all QA processes are well documented and adhere to established standards and regulatory requirements such as ADA compliance.
• Defines the QA testing scope and strategy for the team in designing developing and executing test plans.
• Evaluates current QA testing processes and tools and drives improvements based on industry best practices.
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Gathers analyzes synthesizes and develops visualizations and reporting from large diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3 years applied experience
• Hands-on practical experience in system design application development testing and operational stability
• Proven successful experience as QA contributor particularly in web application context
• Relevant experience in software testing and in-depth knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance in the financial domain.
• Hands-on experience with various QA testing tools performance testing and non-functional testing tools and best practices
• Prior experience within the fintech and banking industries and proven success as part of QA team for highly scalable and resiliency applications
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages
• Experience in developing debugging and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD Application Resiliency and Security
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g. cloud artificial intelligence machine learning mobile etc.)

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
• Exposure to cloud technologies
