Seeking an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor
The Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily operations of equipment maintenance technicians providing leadership training scheduling and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance. This role involves directing repair methodologies applying sound judgment in written and verbal instructions and determining when to engage internal or external resources. The supervisor regularly reviews workloads adjusts staffing and schedules evaluates maintenance effectiveness and provides technician feedback including merit decisions and disciplinary actionsescalated cases are handled jointly with the team leader. All responsibilities are carried out in alignment with company policies while fostering a culture of communication and continuous improvement.
Job Details:
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of operation and maintenance of the equipment in the assigned area.
- Maintains a weekly schedule of planned activities for the crew. Balances schedules with available resources. Coordinates scheduled maintenance custody of equipment with manufacturing and logistics.
- Responsible for controlling and reporting of equipment status PM completion unscheduled overtime and other equipment maintenance measures.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills with crew peers and other groups and levels within the company.
- Lead and influence analysis of equipment or systems to determine malfunction. Coordinate proper repair action. Discuss findings with maintenance group area operators leadership and engineers to find immediate and long-term solutions.
- Ensures technical availability for tools in their areas of responsibility by developing and assigning appropriate staffing and resources.
- Coordinates assistance with the appropriate engineering resources when necessary to improve tool recovery and technician knowledge.
- Escalates issues to fab management as needed to maintain critical communications and secure resources outside of their immediate control.
- Coaches counsels and provides performance feedback. Influences selection and direction of team. Sets realistic objectives and motivates others to achieve them. Helps to resolve conflicts within / between teams.
- Effectively review all records of repairs calibrations tests preventative maintenance spare parts and procedures.
- Maintain 5S standards in work areas and shop. Promotes safe practices within the crew.
- Promote and maintain licensing of technicians for required State / Federal licenses and certificates.
- Schedule training and maintain training records for the maintenance crew.
- Demonstrates a thorough knowledge and understanding of company manufacturing and engineering processes and procedures.
- Responsible for understanding the hazards in the workplace including hazardous waste handling and awareness. Required to remain up to date on applicable trainings.
- Serve as an expert on SAP-PPM transactions and functions.
- Perform year-end / year-start SAP functions to close and generate blanket and statistical work orders.
Position Requirements:
- Associates degree in engineering technology microelectronics technology facilities maintenance electrical / electronic technology or management or equivalent experience. Bachelors Degree and Electrical license preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience of related industry experience.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules instructions operating procedures maintenance manuals and other documents. Ability to write standard operational procedures technical manuals and other documents.
- Ability to communicate verbally and written with individuals / groups of both internal and external customers. Able to write and review routine reports and correspondence.
- Able to interpret and draw engineering drawings and sketches.
- Proficiency in basic math algebra geometry and standard engineering formulas.
- Proficiency with computerized maintenance management software programs such SAP-PPM. Proficiency with office software including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Ability to effectively apply and coach acquired knowledge and skills in order to optimize troubleshooting utilization and effectiveness of equipment and systems.
- Ability to logically deal with multiple job tasks and schedule staff activities.
- Ability to work with people from different ethnic backgrounds individually and in a team environment.
Working Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in a factory environment and must operate safely around electrical and mechanical equipment as well as process chemicals. The role frequently requires work in a cleanroom setting and involves regular walking handling tools and controls with hands and fingers and reaching with arms. Employees are often required to stand stoop kneel crouch crawl talk hear and wear cleanroom attire. Occasionally the job may also require sitting climbing balancing and wearing protective gear or breathing devices.
