Job Description

Health & Safety Advisor

Were excited to offer an internal opportunity for a passionate and proactive team member to join the Citywide Health & Safety team. If youre looking to grow your career in workplace health and safety have a keen eye for detail and a hands-on attitude this could be your next step. Youll play an important part in supporting our safety systems initiatives and compliance requirements across the business.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide administrative support to the H&S team including document management for systems (Sharepoint MyOsh TDDA ChemWatch Qin) policy & procedure development and preparing/publishing reports.
  • Support the safety strategy with day-to-day activities such as implementation of the strategy attending and participating in Toolbox talks and H&S training assist in Wellness initiatives participating in and conducting incident investigations.
  • Participate in the implementation of various policies procedures and systems including the Critical Risk Framework and other projects.
  • Assist in the development of and ensure communication of the Citywide H&S calendar of events.
  • Assist in the development of Wellness programs
  • Promote a strong internal service culture ensuring a service delivery approach that is responsive to the needs of the organisation.

Skills and qualifications required:

  • Qualification in Health & Safety or related discipline is desirable but not essential
  • Previous experience in a H&S role
  • Strong knowledge of MS suite Word Excel Outlook etc.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service
  • Well-developed problem solving information analysis and evaluation skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn
  • A team player whos ready to roll up their sleeves
  • Current Drivers Licence
