Job Description
Downers Victorian Road Maintenance Contact (VRMC) is seeking a Senior Safety Advisor to actively support coach mentor and provide technical advice to internal stakeholders across a number of sites delivering routine maintenance planned maintenance defect and hazard rectification and emergency response services to more than 8500 lane kilometres of road in Victorias Hume region.
Based out of Wangaratta this dynamic role will have exposure to site-based and office work with a focus on bringing people together to ensure we achieve our Safety objectives whilst contributing to the innovation of the business.
ABOUT YOU
Exposure in theRoad or Civil Maintenancesectors will be highly regarded as will the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders maintaining strong relationships with both operational and management personnel to achieve best zero harm outcomes.
- Diploma or higher qualification in Work Health and Safety.
- ICAM Lead investigation (desirable).
- Quality/Safety Lead internal Auditor (desirable).
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to evaluate and implement Zero Harm policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to develop Zero Harm improvement plans to drive and promote proactive safety awareness programs
- Ability to think strategically considering both corporate and local objectives/drivers.
- Ability to conduct audits; investigations of safety issues and assist in developing improvement plans based on findings.
- Prior experience with managing return to work programs in consultation with line management; liaison with Injury Management Team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence at various business levels.
- Strong computer and data analysis skills that extend to report collation and presentation.
