EBC Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer for their operations in Vancouver BC. As a member of the Civil Works and Earthworks Division you will provide insight and innovative construction solutions to ensure the successful execution of the Site C Project which is a dam and generating station in northeastern British Columbia (BC) of 1100 MW. AFDE Partnership the joint venture in which EBC is part of.
The candidate will report directly to the Project Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that construction plans meet the guidelines and specifications outlined in the contract.
*This will be in a FLY IN and FLY OUT position*
As a Field Engineer at EBC you will:
- Read technical and administrative project specifications;
- Inspect work daily to ensure that it meets the specified standards;
- Inform Project Manager of project development and discuss methods planned with him and the Superintendent;
- Order critical material with suppliers in collaboration with the Job Superintendent;
- Perform quantity tracking and cost coding for purposes of productivity analysis and accurate job cost forecasting;
- Prepare daily reports as related to the crew progress and issues;
- Provide document control for correspondence submittals RFI s NCR etc.
- Assist in the preparation of final records for the project including as-builts;
- Organize and participate in various meetings;
- Establish and keep necessary communications between suppliers sub-contractors professionals and client;
- Assist in carrying out a variety of field duties at the job site related to the project;
- Extensive traveling is to be expected.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or Civil Engineering Technology;
- Related job experience of 5-10 years in construction field engineering on Infrastructure projects;
- Advanced skills in written and oral English language;
- Willingness to travel extensively; this is a camp position 2 weeks on 1 week off
- Ability to climb work at various heights and work outdoors in all weather conditions;
- Advanced skills in communication and problem solving;
- Initiative and leadership;
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office MS Project and Bluebeam

Education
