Job Description

  • Based at our Melbourne Burwood Campus
  • Full-time and fixed term until February 2027
  • HEW 7 $105933 $% Superannuation (pro rata part time)

The Senior Coordinator International Compliance will ensure compliance with the Education Services to Overseas Students (ESOS) Act and National Code of Practice.

The successful candidate will be involved in the development and implementation of processes to ensure Deakin University complies with these obligations and serves as the first point of escalation as well as ensures the International Compliance Team achieves and maintains high-quality administrative processes and services to international students.

As a Senior Coordinator International Compliance you will:

  • Organise and lead the delivery of up-to-date advice and training to staff and students as required about the Education Services to Overseas Students (ESOS) Act National Code of practice student visa conditions and the Simplified Student Visa Framework.
  • Consult a diverse range of stakeholders to ensure compliance with the legislative requirements of Australian Government Agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with members of Deakin International to ensure transnational compliance work is completed with required timeframes.
  • Engage in process improvement activities and adopt new ideas to maintain accurate data reporting and records in PRISMS and CRICOS register.
  • Develop and implement procedures and processes for the management of onshore international students to ensure Deakin complies with the obligations of the Education Services to Overseas Students (ESOS) Act and National Code of Practice.
  • Ensure that Deakin complies with all obligations related to the timely reporting of student enrolment variations in PRISMS Tuition Protections Services reporting and provider default notifications to maintain accurate and complete records on the CRICOS register.

To be successful youll have:

  • A Degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or
  • Extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or
  • An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • A deep knowledge and understanding of the obligations of education providers under the provision of the ESOS Act National Code of Practice and associated regulation and a sound knowledge of the TEQSA.
  • Knowledge and Experience in delivering administrative services preparing internal guidance and procedures briefings which meet ESOS Act and National Code of practice regulatory obligations.
