Job Summary
The Senior Application Engineer assists customers by identifying the best solution for their application; offers and sells complete product solutions of Flow Controls portfolio; provides commercial and technical support to customers; always strives to provide the highest standards of customer service working with peers Outside Sales Service Engineers Business Managers etc.
This role will be based in Emerson Kuwait. Kuwait Oil Company Kuwait National Petroleum Company Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company EQUATE Petrochemical Company Ministry of Electricity and Water Joint Operations from Kuwait is some of the key customers that the candidate will be handling on the daily basis.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Provide Applications Engineering Technical and Pricing Support to Kuwait customers including technical presentations site walkdowns.
- Sizing and selection of control valves and other FCV products and review project specifications to prepare deviations list. Prepare customer quotations that are timely technically accurate commercially verified offering the best all-round solution.
- Engage in direct customer technical sales calls order close outs site walkdowns and prepare reports.
- Co-ordinate with GIS / ISG team for root-cause analysis and getting solution for severe service applications and complex products and submit to customer with detailed technical solution / presentation.
- Follow-up on quotations with customers and outside sales team until we get the purchase order.
- Ensure that purchase orders are commercially and technically compliant before processing for order entry in accordance with relevant procedures and enter the accurate orders to respective factories for order processing.
- Co-ordinate with Project Management / Order Entry / Customer Order Fulfillment (COF) team to provide clean orders to factories and liaise with customers for post order supports and documentation.
- Collaborate and support Flow Control Sales Manager and Application Manager to meet the Sales budget for Northern region in line with agreed departmental KPIs (Hit Rate/Budget).
- Maintain the records and informations in Emerson tools such as Share point CRM etc..
- Align with local and international Emerson Trade Compliance and Quality Management procedures as well as the Emerson Ethics policy with respect to all business activities.
- Keep up to date with developments in products industries and market trends.
Who you are
- Experienced in control valve product and applications and Fisher sizing/selection tools.
- Experienced in selling control valve products/services to HC Chemical & Petrochemical end-users.
- Knowledgeable in industrial standards for control valves design manufacturing testing processes.
For this Role You Will Need:
- A proven ability in the process control industry including control valve products and applications
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in engineering (Instrumentation/Mechanical/Chemical) or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Experience in control valve sizing and selection tools and Fisher FF2 sizing tool.
- Excellent interpretation skills relating to engineering details & P&ID drawings.
- Ability to communicate optimally.
- Ability to make technical decisions based on sound engineering facts & applicable codes.
- Able to interact positively with all customers recognizing and adapting to the cultural differences that exist.
