Summary:
The Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program was established to expand access to confidential face-to-face counseling and reduce the barriers and stigma often associated with seeking counseling support. In 2007 the Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counselor position was added to the MFLC Program to provide additional nonmedical counseling opportunities to the military service members families by supporting their dependents within schools child and youth development centers (CDCs) and child-oriented programs they attend (e.g. summer camps).
The Child Development Center (CDC) embedded counselor positions have the primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children of all ages of military service members and their families at Child Development are currently seeking qualified CHILD Counselor (CYB) to support the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) program at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage and leveling commensurate with experience.

Essential Job Functions:
MFLC CHILD counselors provide services to children of military service members to increase their ability to develop strong relationships solve problems and adequately express and manage their emotions. MFLC CHILD counselors are assigned to Child Developmental Centers (CDCs) on CHILD counselors work closely with military branch points of contact (POCs) to ensure that program services are provided within the scope of the contract and meet the needs of the assigned installation.
