The operations analyst is responsible for organizing and supporting the effective and financially prudent use of transportation resources to serve students in Holyoke Public Schools. The Operations Analyst must have strong organizational and customer service skills. The office functions in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Financial Operations
- Audit and process vendor invoices and liaise between transportation vendors and the district Finance Department.
- Understand the districts transportation contracts and apply that understanding to ensure appropriate implementation and monitoring of contracts. Raise issues as appropriate to the supervisor.
- Record and analyze trends on vendors performance challenges and contract breaches.
- Analyze departmental spending and implementing cost control measures to align
departmental spending with authorized appropriation limits.
Transportation Operations
- Respond to concerns and questions related to transportation from families and school staff members with timeliness urgency kindness and grace.
- Assist in the creating and auditing of bus routes schedules and stops to comply with policies provided by the Holyoke Public Schools.
- Collect and use data from a variety of sources to track student ridership improve efficiency and ensure that all required reports are submitted to the proper agencies on a timely basis.
- Assist leadership in managing the collection and maintenance of student data in our transportation software (receiving forms and paperwork managing databases updating contact information maintaining records entering data etc.).
- Liaise with schools to communicate new and updated route information safety concerns time changes and any other necessary information as needed.
- Plan and manage transportation logistics for district programs and activities as needed.
- All other duties as assigned by the Director of Enrollment Services or Transportation Manager.
Additional Operations
- Manage and record facility rentals
- Print staff identification cards
- Provide driver wages to food service vendor
- Work with Financial Analysts to assist with financial procurement or other
business needs - Communicate and maintain positive relationships with a wide array of constituents including principals support staff leadership teams vendors and community members
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience skills traits and beliefs:
- Bachelors Degree preferred
- Municipal accounting banking or school operations experience preferred.
- Must be able to express oneself clearly and concisely orally in writing and through
presentations using proper grammar. - Must be a team player and able to work well with others.
- Must possess computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite such as Outlook Word
Access PowerPoint and Excel. - Experience with MUNIS is preferred.
- Regular and punctual attendance is a requirement.
- Certain situations may require longer hours to complete duties.
- Bilingual preferred
Reports To: Executive Director of Finance with close collaboration with the Director of Enrollment Services and Transportation Manager
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
$50000-$60000 commensurate with experience.
