Under the guidance of the Market Director of Respiratory Services established departmental policies and procedures and specific instructions the Echo Tech Lead provides diagnostic testing and therapies assigned that include echocardiograms pulmonary function studies EEGs Cardiac Stress Testing and Holter-Monitoring. Maintains patient safety through attention to detail equipment safety checks adherence to department policies and effective communication with physicians staff and patients. Provides patient orientation procedure explanation and pre and post diagnostic care to completion of test. Assists patients with basic patient care needs. Coordinates patient flow and the activities of the Cardiopulmonary department. Responsible for proper maintenance of equipment accreditation and Departmental Performance Improvement.
Position Responsibilities:
Education Required
Associates degree or Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program
Licensure/Certification
Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Vascular Sonographer
BLS certification (through an approved AHA program)
