Job Summary
Provides technical leadership of university research programs associated with efficient and on-site utility cost reduction solutions. Conducts related assessments and participant site investigations collects and analyzes related data and authors associated technical reports. Contributes to university program development and culture through partnerships recruiting (participants and program workforce) and student development/mentoring. Position employment dates will coincide with associated funding source(s) end dates.
Responsibilities
Achieves program metrics and reporting timelines related to university funding for position. From time-to-time leads related program reporting including establishment and maintenance of program-level outcomes metrics etc. Performs technical utility-associated and/or environmental assessments and techno-economic evaluations of associated solutions; drafts technical reports on findings. Leads and mentors team members in delivering associated on-time specific activities and deliverables including: Engineering and technical support for project design and implementation coordinating with participant personnel to optimize the operations and utility use of systems and equipment. Systems and equipment analysis to determine optimum operating conditions and diagnose issues impacting utility consumption; develops and recommends strategies to maximize operating efficiency. Collection and analysis of data from utility management and information systems such as a building automation system and utility billing and meter data to identify opportunities for utility and operational savings. Coordination with program business participants to implement effective and innovative efficiency measures and demand-side management strategies in buildings and facilities including related financial incentives (e.g. utility programs). Research and summarize benefits of utility efficiency and on-site energy solution concepts. Provides strategic leadership through the advisement to research principal investigator(s) on organizational technical direction structure and culture. Supports and/or leads the development of university research opportunities including: Acts as an information source and contributor to faculty members and graduate students engaged in research activities especially those related to emerging technologies. Supports the preparation of grant and contract proposals and assist in the development of technical content for reports submitted to funding agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); eight years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership human relations and effective communications skills required.
