The following vacancy exists in Goshen Community Schools for the2025-26school year:
Goshen High School
Summer Band Auxiliary
Position Summary:
Goshen High School is seeking motivated reliable individuals to support the Crimson Marching Band as Summer Band Auxiliary Staff. Auxiliary staff members work directly with students participating in the color guard dance team or other auxiliary groups providing instruction supervision and support during summer rehearsals band camp and scheduled events. This is a seasonal extra-curricular position that plays a critical role in preparing students for fall performances.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction and coaching to students in assigned auxiliary group(s) such as color guard flag line or dance team.
- Assist with choreography routine development and performance preparation.
- Support the Band Director and other staff during rehearsals band camp and performances.
- Supervise students to ensure safety positive conduct and adherence to program expectations.
- Collaborate with other staff to maintain a positive and inclusive environment.
- Attend all scheduled summer rehearsals band camp and designated performances.
- Assist with set-up and tear-down of equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in marching band color guard dance or related performance groups preferred.
- Strong instructional and communication skills with students in grades 9-12.
- Ability to model positive behavior and enthusiasm for music and performance arts.
- Commitment to the schedule and responsibilities of the program.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks and school district onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with high school students in an instructional or supervisory role.
- Choreography dance or flag technique background.
SALARY: Per extracurricular schedule (Group #9) and experience
