GRCCs Automotive Department is seeking an adjunct instructor. Candidates must possess an interest in working with diverse student populations from a wide range of age ethnicity national origin and ability; and a willingness engage in and develop innovative teaching strategies to effectively assess student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty members are responsible to GRCC and to each other for the successful completion of departmental work as well as work associated with the School of Business and Industry and GRCC as a whole. In an environment where innovation is valued each adjunct faculty member will take responsibility to perform their work in a manner consistent with both the letter and the spirit of GRCC values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Teach GRCC course offering(s) in Automotive Technology and facilitate daily lesson plans and lab projects.
- Fulfill adjunct faculty responsibilities by providing a stimulating classroom environment following syllabus requirements using department approved curriculum and tools and applying college attendance policies.
- Respond to communications promptly and ensure students have access to course information.
- Comply with GRCC Policies and the Faculty Agreement.
- Maintain accurate student records to meet GRCC reporting requirements.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education Credentials
- Bachelors degree in related field from an accredited institution required.
- Master ASE Certification required.
- Masters degree in related field for an accredited institution preferred.
Work Experience
- A minimum of Five years experience in automotive service engineering or related field
- Proven skills in automotive diagnostic equipment: scan tools oscilloscopes digital multimeters and TPMS tools
- Applied knowledge with air conditioning recovery machines and test equipment alignment racks and brake lathes
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Expertise in automotive diagnostics repair engines drivetrain electrical drivability steering and suspension brakes HVAC and industry standard equipment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to present and implement complex ideas and concepts from lecture to lab application.
- Skills in active listening social perceptiveness and critical thinking.
- Strong communication organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in instructional technology and learning management systems (Google Workspace tools: Google Docs Google Slides Google Drive Canvas)
Physical Demands
- Additional responsibilities outside of scheduled instructional time in the classroom include grading preparing for class prepping lab materials and responding to students email questions
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
