Job Description
Leica Biosystems (LBS) is an operating company in Danahers (DHR) diagnostics (Dx) segment and a global leader in workflow and automation solutions for anatomic pathology laboratories. LBS provides a comprehensive product range for each step in the pathology process from sample preparation and staining to imaging and reporting helping improve workflow efficiency and diagnostic confidence for customers worldwide.
Position Summary
The Director Global Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) is responsible for creating implementing and sustaining a global safety culture and program to ensure that LBS associates are safe at work every day AND that LBS global business continuity program is robust.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
Create implement and sustain a global EH&S program with primary focus on protecting associates through proactive hazard identification and risk mitigation.
Drive adoption of EH&S-specific DHR Business System (DBS) tools and processes across all LBS sites and selling units globally.
Develop targeted safety programs for high-risk populations: field service engineers manufacturing associates fleet drivers and laboratory personnel.
Build and lead global EH&S team partnering with EH&S personnel at LBS sites globally.
Serve as LBS primary contact for DHR and regulatory entities on EH&S matters globally and drive LBS EH&S-specific compliance with the DHR Legal Escalation Policy.
Develop and maintain KPI dashboard tracking safety and business continuity metrics presenting periodically to leadership
The essential requirements of the job include:
BS/BA in Occupational Health Safety Environmental Science or a related field (advanced degree or certifications such as CSP CIH or ISO lead auditor preferred).
10 years of progressive EH&S leadership experience including global or multi-site responsibility within medical device diagnostics life sciences or regulated manufacturing sectors.
Demonstrated success designing and scaling global EH&S frameworks with expertise in ergonomic and field-based safety solutions.
Demonstrated success designing and scaling business continuity/emergency response programs.
Strong communicator with a demonstrated ability to influence across cultures and functions and interact with senior leaders (including Q&A).
Global travel required (<20% flexible).
