Salary Range: SP2 Level 4 $75600 - $94500. The final compensation for this position will be determined based on individual factors including education qualifications experience and internal equity.
Statement of Concern Analyst - Hybrid
The Opportunity
Are you driven by a passion for regulatory excellence and making a meaningful impact Join theRegulatory Applications (RA) Branchat theAlberta Energy Regulator (AER)as aSOC Analyst where youll play a vital role in managing and analyzing Statements of Concern (SOCs) through the Statements if Concern Application Review (SOCAR) process. In this role youll collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory requirements are met and that applications are reviewed with fairness integrity and transparency. Your work will directly support the AERs commitment to responsible resource development and maintaining public trust.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Analyze Statements of Concern and prepare SOCAR documents in collaboration with AER staff to support application decisions.
Work cross-functionally to ensure consistency fairness and quality in SOCAR documentation and processes.
Maintain clear communication with stakeholders to support understanding of SOC requirements and procedures.
Develop a broad understanding of application types and directives to inform SOCAR recommendations.
Provide backup support for SOC Assessor duties as needed.
Deliver training and presentations to industry and internal groups on SOC processes and regulatory requirements.
Respond to inquiries from internal teams industry and the public regarding SOCAR processes.
Support continuous improvement by contributing to process enhancements and project work.
What were looking for in you:
Bachelors degree in business science legal studies or arts.
Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Access);
Experience with AER systems (IAR ERKS OneStop) is an asset.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Strong oral and written communication skills including public speaking and presentation delivery.
