McKesson Medical-Surgical is seeking a Director of Operating Expense Governance in Richmond VA. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of operating expenses within the organization. This includes developing strategies to reduce costs managing budgets and forecasts and ensuring a high standard of accountability to expense discipline across the business. The Director will govern actionable operating expense reporting with an emphasis on creating visibility for financial return metrics. They will also work closely with senior leadership to drive efficiency and improve profitability ultimately making recommendations to the CEO and CFO and steering decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
Act as an advisor to the CEO CFO VPs of FP&A and other senior leaders
Function as an accountability partner to the business to ensure expense discipline and support sustainable profitability and operating expense leverage
Create and champion actionable expense reporting for all facets of the business
Provide regular analytics and insight to opportunities within the expense space
Collaborate relentlessly across FP&A to inform understand and establish alignment on both results and forward-looking budgets and forecasts
Work cross-functionally to develop and execute budgets and long-term financial plans
Uphold monthly and quarterly P&L reporting cadences including production of monthly reporting packages
Serve as a highly visible leader with multiple direct reports
Provide guidance on investment decisions related to operational expenses
Analyze industry trends and benchmark best practices in operating expense management
Minimum Requirements:
Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12 years of professional
experience and 4 years of management experience.
Critical Skills:
Experience in financial modeling including comprehensive expertise in Excel and related applications
Highly analytical with a deep understanding of financial levers and application of them
Ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Unafraid to challenge status quos and to disagree in the spirit of solutioning
Ability to work with ambiguity and to succinctly summarize information into executive summaries
Elevated attention to detail and naturally curious
Ability to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple internal customer demands
Desire to work in a high-energy and high-impact environment with a dedicated commitment to excellence
Collaborative team-oriented service-oriented
People leadership experience
Advanced written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
Understanding of core accounting concepts (GAAP)

High social and emotional intelligence with proven track record of building partnerships at the executive level to influence change thinking of and gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations
Strategic thought partner with ability to see the big picture and anticipate challenges
Takes an enterprise perspective and collaborates to remove barriers and drive initiatives to completion
Education
BS/BA in Finance Economics or other quantitative discipline with record of strong achievement
MBA preferred
