Job Description

Permanent Physician Assistant-Urgent Care Day Shift

Location: College Station TX 77845
Shift: Day
Guaranteed Hours: 24 per week
Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Functions:
  • Perform and document comprehensive or problem-focused physical exams and medical histories.
  • Order collect interpret and evaluate lab and diagnostic tests to assess patient health.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments according to clinical guidelines considering safety efficacy and cost.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes and modify care plans accordingly.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions treatments medications and preventive measures.
  • Counsel on drug regimens interactions and side effects.
  • Maintain detailed medical records of patient care and treatment outcomes.
  • Refer patients appropriately when care needs exceed PAs scope of practice.
  • Provide specialty consultations and perform procedures within scope and expertise.
  • Work flexible hours or additional shifts as needed based on department coverage.
Key Success Factors:
  • Strong clinical knowledge in diagnosing and treating injuries and illnesses.
  • Understanding of drug properties therapeutic alternatives and preventative care strategies.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to critically analyze complex clinical scenarios.
  • Proficient in EMR systems and related healthcare software.
  • Capable of developing patient-centered treatment plans.
  • Ability to educate and counsel patients effectively.
  • Skill in interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Experience: New graduates welcome (less than 1 year of experience required).
  • Licensure:
    • Current license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas.
    • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
