Respiratory Therapist ICU (Permanent Role) Location: Fort Worth TX 76104
Shift: 12 HR Days 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Guaranteed Hours: (12 hours/week)
Compensation: Based on experience
Essential Functions: - Perform and direct a wide range of respiratory care services including:
- Oxygen therapy
- Aerosol therapy
- Inhaled medication
- Airway clearance
- Mechanical ventilation
- Follow physicians orders and established protocols accurately.
- Respond to emergencies and administer Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) when needed.
- Review physician orders patient charts and test results to guide therapy.
- Initiate and adjust respiratory therapy based on patient condition.
- Educate patients on proper use of respiratory care equipment.
- Assess and document patient response to therapy; coach for better outcomes.
- Maintain thorough documentation of all therapies and supplies used.
- Ensure all applicable charges are recorded and filed.
- Report therapy outcomes and make treatment recommendations as needed.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies (HIPAA infection control isolation timekeeping and social media conduct).
- Collaborate professionally with healthcare team members students and other staff.
- Demonstrate initiative in completing professional and technical requirements.
- Identify and participate in continuous quality improvement efforts.

- General computer literacy: EMR systems data entry and communication tools.
Qualifications: - Education:
Associates Degree OR 2 years of relevant work experience above the minimum requirement. - Experience:
Less than 1 year of experience required. - Certifications/Licenses:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
- Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) Licensed in the State of Texas
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
