Job Description:

The UF Health Cancer Center is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the onlyone at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center we span 12 of the University of Floridas 16 colleges pulling together a world-class multi-disciplinary membership of over 330 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.

As the Assistant Director of our Community Outreach & Research Engagement (CORE) division you will be responsible for overseeingcommunity engagement and research integration efforts to improve cancer outcomes in the community through bi-directional partnerships evidence-informed outreach and applied research initiatives.

In your new role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversight of the Division including management of personnel financial and operational resources as well as liaising with institutional and external partners on behalf of the COE and the Center.
  • Development and implementation of the strategic direction of the CORE division including process improvements metrics management and other related activities.
  • High-level oversight of community outreach operations including resolution of barriers to program delivery and research projects liaising between the community COE ensuring the objectives and needs of the catchment area are met.

This is a senior leadership position ideal for candidates with established careers in public health and implementation science and experience leading teams of community health professionals. Ideal candidates will have an engaged forward-thinking and collaborative leadership style with the desire and skillset to grow the COEs community outreach activities and refine divisional activities. Expected Salary:

$100000 - $110000 annually

This is a TEAMS position and is eligible for a suite ofexcellent benefits retirement options and paid leaveincluding:

Minimum Requirements:

Masters degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelors degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Valid FL Drivers License or equivalent is required.

Professional certification in a relevant discipline (eg. CHES) required at the earliest of 12 months from hire or eligibility.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience:

  • A terminal degree in Public Health Health Behavior Social Psychology Implementation Science or similar.
  • Strong preference for direct community outreach and engagement experience focused on health education and research linkage at the University of Florida.
  • Extensive experience in cancer education and research literacy program management in community settings.
  • Advanced knowledge of research methods policies procedures and regulatory requirements of FDA OPRR and GCP.
  • Prior experience (3 years) as a supervisor or team lead and/or completion of leadership/management training program (e.g. Managing at UF The Supervisory Challenge) highly preferred.

  • Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills with ability to synthesize aggregate data into meaningful reports on outcomes for presentation to leadership groups and local government agencies.
  • Excellent delegation and time-management skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple cross-functional priorities seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical creative problem solving and critical thinking skillset.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills particularly proof-reading and public speaking skills.
  • Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite.
