Job Description
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to oversee and enhance our test automation processes. In this role you will lead the automation testing team develop frameworks and strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions and collaborate closely with development product and operations teams. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving continuous improvement ensuring efficiency reliability and scalability of testing practices aligned with organizational goals.
Software Requirements
Required Skills:
- Extensive hands-on experience designing and executing automation testing solutions
- Strong proficiency with automation tools such as Selenium Appium and TestNG
- Programming skills in Java Python or similar languages
- Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies and SDLC
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation in tools like Jenkins or equivalent
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with testing frameworks like Cucumber RestAssured or similar
- Familiarity with cloud-based testing environments
- Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter LoadRunner)
Overall Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the QA automation team ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of automation testing projects
- Develop implement and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage
- Collaborate with development teams to identify isolate and track defects and facilitate resolution processes
- Evaluate and adopt new testing tools methodologies and best practices proactively
- Mentor and develop team members technical and professional skills
- Review test plans test cases and automation scripts; analyze results to ensure quality standards are met
- Drive continuous process improvements in testing practices and automation coverage
- Communicate testing progress risks and issues clearly with stakeholders and leadership
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
- Essential: Java and/or Python (proficiency in creating and maintaining automation scripts)
- Preferred: Knowledge of other scripting languages such as JavaScript or Ruby
Testing Frameworks & Libraries:
- Selenium WebDriver TestNG Appium Cucumber RestAssured
Databases / Data Management:
- Ability to query and validate data in relational databases such as SQL Server Oracle or MySQL
CI/CD & Cloud Technologies:
- Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP) for automation testing environments (preferred)
Development Tools & Methodologies:
- Git (version control) Maven/Gradle (build systems) Agile and Scrum practices
Security & Quality Protocols:
- Basic understanding of security aspects related to test automation and data privacy
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software quality assurance and automation testing
- Demonstrated success leading automation testing teams and projects
- Proven experience with automation tools and scripting in agile environments
- Experience in delivering reliable scalable testing solutions in fast-paced organizational settings
- Prior exposure to CI/CD automation is highly desirable
Day-to-Day Activities
- Oversee the development execution and maintenance of automated test plans scripts and frameworks
- Manage the automation testing workload assigning tasks and reviewing deliverables
- Analyze test results log defects and coordinate with teams for prompt resolution
- Continuously evaluate and improve test automation processes and frameworks
- Collaborate with developers business analysts and project managers to align testing strategies
- Coach team members on best practices testing tools and emerging technologies
- Conduct regular review and reporting on testing metrics progress and quality indicators
- Keep updated on trends in automation testing and incorporate relevant innovations
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field
- Relevant certifications (e.g. ISTQB Advanced Certified Scrum Automation frameworks certifications) are advantageous
