Job Description

Overview

AmTrust Financial Services a fast-growing commercial insurance company is looking for a Director FP&A responsible for supporting the Claims organization. The right candidate will bring strong leadership and a balance of analytical abilities creativity and execution to the table.

This position will report directly to the VP of Claims Strategic Planning & Analytics and will support the Claims organization by providing thoughtful reporting and analytics to communicate the progress of the organization and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of analysts supporting our various lines of business and business functions across claims. This team is responsible for all Claims & Litigation expense management & oversight continuous maintenance and monitoring of staffing models budgeting & forecasting and expense reporting & analysis. They provide valuable insight enabling data-driven decision making in all aspects of running the organization.
  • Build strong relationships with claims & litigation leaders to become a trusted partner who understands the business and can influence decisions
  • Partner with our Corporate FP&A and Controllers departments on company-wide deliverables and initiatives
  • Coordinate blending data from multiple sources for unified reporting and look to identify cross-functional opportunities to either simplify or improve current processes
  • Proficiency evaluating very large data sets with an ability to spot trends and present business insights to a variety of audiences
  • Create consolidated executive-level reporting
  • Support ad-hoc requests

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 7-10 years financial or operational analytical experience
  • 3 years leadership experience
  • Experience with Office particularly Excel Power BI and SharePoint.
  • Experience using SQL with BI software suites
  • Prior experience in reporting and data visualization solutions consulting or business analysis
  • Ability to operate under limited supervision and play an active role in cross-functional work

Preferred:

  • Property Casualty Insurance industry experience
  • Experience with financial reporting solutions Oracle Cloud ERP Hyperion
