The Company Rescue is a full-service marketing agency with a mission to make healthy behaviors easier and more appealing. Since our founding in 2001 Rescue has been exclusively focused on researching developing and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide research strategy creative production web traditional media social media policy change youth engagement and experiential marketing services to government non-profit and healthcare clients in over 35 states and provinces as well as to federal government agencies.
Rescues health behavior change marketing campaigns focus on topics such as tobacco obesity substance and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise eating healthy foods early childhood development and after school programs; and other topics that promote healthy living. Rescues behavior change campaigns focus on diverse populations within teen (13 - 17) young adult (18 - 26) and adult (18) populations in both rural and urban areas resulting in a wide variety of campaign styles and strategies.

The Job We are seeking a dynamic high-performing Youth Engagement and Policy Intern with experience in recruitment and community relations. The ideal candidate will have excellent public speaking organizational and writing skills as well as the ability to foster positive relationships with high schools in Virginia.
Day-To-Day Activities:
Partner Recruitment - Assist with recruiting high schools particularly in the Southwest region to join Y Streets Partner Program.
- Coordinate and participate in recruitment events (i.e. teacher presentations) and related activities at high schools to promote the Partner Program and network with school principals and teachers.
- Assist with coordinating outreach and promotional efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with school principals teachers staff and other key school administrators.
System Management: - Utilize Rescues proprietary volunteer engagement system to track partner applications.
- Track and manage Memo of Understanding (MoUs).
Assist with Client Services - Assist with managing related client requests and queries.
- Assist with creating related client reports and strategy presentations.
- Join client status calls and take meeting notes.
Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma/GED
- Experience in recruitment and community relations;
- Excellent public speaking skills;
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
- Experience working in a deadline-driven environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills (one-on-one and in a group format)
- Flexibility and willingness to shift and pivot in response to the current climate and program needs;
- High-level competency with Microsoft Office G Suite or equivalent
Location: Remote in Southeast Virginia. Rescue is a remote work friendly employer. With limited exceptions remote work is allowed on a case-by-case basis. Please contact if you have any questions. Physical Requirements: Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer laptop monitor or tablet for a full workday and for long periods of time (typically 8 hours) including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. If working from a Rescue office location able to stoop bend reach climb stairs and move freely throughout the building. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients coworkers or attend meetings and seminars. Must be able to move boxed work documents up to 40 pounds in and out of office for travel by car and by air.
