Job Duties

The Supervising Deputy Clerk (Grade 11) is assigned supervisory and/or operational responsibilities for the clerks office. Will individually direct or personally handle operational activities to promote efficient caseload processing including records management cash processing and service to the public. The Supervisor is required to plan schedule and monitor these activities to coincide with the overall needs of the court other criminal justice agencies and the public. Must be committed to providing excellent customer service with a courteous and positive attitude.

Responsible for court accounting bookkeeping and supervision of other deputy clerks. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with exceptional organizational decision-making and communication skills. In addition to supervisory responsibilities the supervisor is also an integral part of the workforce in tasks connected with the functioning of the office to provide a timely public service. Assists the Clerk and Judges with short- and long-range planning day-to-day docket/courtroom/front counter maintenance problem resolution coaching and counseling. Works under the direction of the Clerk of Court from established judicial and administrative policies and procedures. Must include a high degree of accuracy and the ability to prioritize.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalent is required a college degree or a related field or 2 years experience in a court system is desired. Must be detail-oriented to include a high degree of accuracy and the ability to prioritize. Must be able to follow and explain procedures in a clear and easy-to-understand manner in person and on the phone. Experience in cash handling receipting and a high level of math acuity.

Physical requirements: lifting to 30lbs bending/stretching to retrieve.

Additional Considerations

Demonstrated competence in areas of responsibility direct supervision as well as :
knowledge of the court/criminal justice system and automated financial and records management.
