Job Description
Certified Nursing Assistant - Ambulatory Surgery Center
Description
Certified Nursing Assistant to work in an ambulatory surgical center setting.
Reports to:Director of Nursing
Qualifications:
Current Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant certification required.
BLS required
Minimum of two years patient care experience required.
Occupational Exposure:
Category I exposure to bloodborne pathogens frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.
Responsibilities:
- Observes and reports patients status and needs.
- Answers call lights and attends to/reports patient needs.
- Transfers moves and repositions patients as needed.
- Monitors and records patients vital signs like heart rate pulse temperature and blood pressure as needed.
- Assists physicians and nurses during examination and treatment of the patient.
- Makes occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Cleaning patient areas including mopping wiping and disinfecting.
- Maintains current knowledge and certification requirements.
- Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.
- Respects and regards the dignity of all patients families visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional responsible and courteous environment.

- The employee must be able to lift and/or carry over 20 pounds on a regular basis and be able to push/pull over 75 pounds on a regular basis.
- The employee must be able to stand and/or walk up to 10 hours per day.
