Job Description
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of the CARE Team the Student Support Services Case Manager supports students personal and academic success and serves as a key leader in facilitating student access to social services options campus support and/or community resources. The Student Support Services Case Manager works closely with students faculty and staff promoting a collaborative and solution-focused approach. This position assesses student concerns identifies appropriate support options develops and implements holistic individual care plans for students in need and advises students. The Student Support Services Case Manager advocates and coordinates with campus and community partners to ensure the delivery of services and manages community-wide outreach and support and educational programs and services.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides leadership in case management and social services to support students experiencing housing insecurity financial hardship food insecurity domestic violence and other complex personal challenges.
Develops individualized case management plans to connect students with services and supports that meet their academic emotional social and basic needs.
Advises students families faculty and staff about how policy interacts with each individuals presenting circumstances applying comprehensive knowledge of University policy including State and Federal guidelines.
Assists with the facilitation of weekly Student Care Team meetings and assume responsibility in the absence of the Director.
Addresses and manages student concerns coordinate referrals to mental health services community-based agencies public assistance programs and on/off-campus resources.
Manages the Red Hawk Fellows (RHF) Program and collaborate with donors to deliver educational programming and support services for emancipated youth former foster care students and independent students.
Assists with CARE Team interventions by responding to reports of students of concern and implementing coordinated care plans to address crises and connect to support.
Guides independent students in accessing and utilizing community resources effectively.
Provides aid to students seeking social services including housing support (e.g. Section 8 vouchers) rental assistance and enrollment in SNAP.
Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and social service agencies to expand support networks and service access.
Collaborates with and coordinate campus services such as Financial Aid Red Hawk Pantry Rockys Closet Residence Life among others to enhance student support.
Counsels and advises students experiencing distress or exhibiting behaviors that may pose a risk to themselves or others facilitating appropriate interventions and referrals.
Collaborates with the Office of Admissions and high school counselors to identify and recruit eligible participants for the Red Hawk Fellows Program.
Engages with donors community stakeholders and development professionals to cultivate financial and programmatic support.
Coordinates and delivers educational programs and community engagement events.
Manages budget analyze participation data and report outcomes of program success.
Supervises graduate student(s) studying social work counseling or related degrees.
Assists the Office of the Dean of Students team with ad hoc projects.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED:
Masters Degree from an accredited college or University in Counseling Social Work Public Health Psychology or a related field.
A minimum of three years of relevant full-time professional experience in a related field.
Experience securing New Jersey social services support for individuals managing housing and/or food insecurity among other basic needs.
Demonstrated understanding of foster care social services and community resources.
Experience in crisis intervention advocacy referrals on and off campus coordination of services problem-solving to support individuals impacted by life events.
Experience handling confidential and sensitive information and complex situations with diplomacy while exercising excellent judgment.
Ability to work evenings weekends and occasional holidays as needed.
PREFERRED:
Current knowledge and experience applying best practices within legal or procedural regulations to address student needs with appropriate documentation.
Experience developing and delivering programs and/or educational presentations.
Superior critical thinking organization and collaboration skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced team environment.
Understanding of higher education case management and behavioral intervention strategies.

Salary Range
