Job Description

Position Summary:

This position provides primary reception responsibilities and administrative support for Student Life Communications (SLC) and the SLC unit staff to ensure daily operation of SLC. This position performs a wide range of tasks that require a high level of independence and discretion judgment and confidentiality. Responsibilities include managing schedules assistance with project/strategic initiatives coordinating meetings and overseeing the procurement of office supplies all while maintaining a high level of organization. Effective communication problem-solving and attention to detail are essential for success in this role as they contribute to overall organizational efficiency.

Specific Job Duties & Tasks:

  • Organize information for building email newsletters for a variety of audiences including: parents students alumni and student life staff.
  • Manage subscriber lists in collaboration with SLC team.
  • Oversee office reception to ensure guests are attended to in person over the phone or email and refer inquiries to appropriate SLC staff.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation for specific initiatives projects events or programs to provide primary administrative and operational support and management.
  • Assist in managing and understanding of SLC budget particularly as it relates to professional development supplies recurrent charges.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors related to digital platforms and services used by SLC in collaboration with team.
  • Create and maintain SLC-specific web content in support of SLC staff and partners including procedures forms and service-related content (resource site).
  • Maintain SLC sharepoint space in collaboration with SLC team.
  • Assist in the coordination of plans and provide related support to strategic initiatives.
  • Create edit and maintain large-scale timelines and schedules as they relate to strategic initiatives.
  • Supervise student employees as determined.
  • Be a resource for student staff as it relates to administrative duties.
