About Shared Services:

Shared Services Accounting handles the accounting functions for all Gray-owned and operated TV stations.

Job Summary/Description:

The AVP Shared Services will assist in the support of the financial operations of Grays Shared Services.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead Special Projects
Represent Gray Media on industry boards where applicable.
Assist Gray Corporate Accounting with analytical and transactional inquiries.
Assist with the development documentation and enforcement of proper accounting methods policies and procedures to meet changing business requirements as well as adherence to SOX controls.
Work with the independent accounting firms that provide internal and external auditing including interim reviews and the year-end audit culminating in interim and year-end financial reporting to the Securities and Exchange Commission and other external parties
Assists in the design and implementation of process improvements including standardization enhancements and potential automation of existing processes and systems.
Assists in the preparation of the monthly close process and related reporting deliverables including reviewing reconciliations and other reports to ensure the accuracy of financials.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelors degree in accounting; MBA and/or CPA is preferred.
At least eight years of professional accounting/finance experience with at least five years in a managerial role.
Excellent working knowledge of GAAP.
Must possess excellent analytical quantitative project management and problem-solving skills.
In-depth knowledge and demonstrated ability to use automated accounting systems and standard PC-based accounting/spreadsheet applications.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-financial users with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Must be able to analyze data draw conclusions and recommend actions using sound judgment.
Must have extremely high standards of being accountable for personal and team performance.
Must have the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Media or Sales-based industry experience is a plus
