Work Schedule: 10-20 hours per week between the hours of 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday

Pay Rate: $10.50-$12.50
Key Components:
This position is reserved for Federal Work Study (FWS) students only. The Accounting Assistant works with the Financial Director and Administrative Accounting Assistant to help manage Mission Wacos finances. The Accounting Assistant mainly performs data entry services as a clerk.
- In a student employee capacity may assist in working with external community service partners.
Functions of the Position:
- Record journal entries in Mission Wacos financial system primarily cash receipts.
- Aid with Accounts Payable duties by reconciling credit card receipts to bank statements.
- Filing/Office organization. Some reconciliation duties including checking for errors in the bank statements.
- Some analysis projects.
- Use of Excel and Google Sheets.
Required Skills:
- Required Soft Skills:
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic.
- Long-term commitment preferred (1 years).
- Required Hard Skills:
- Knowledge of accounting (debits credits accounts payable reconciliation etc.).
- Knowledge of Excel.
- Basic general computer knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of accounting analysis.
- Learning Outcomes:
- Data entry practices.
- Working knowledge of general ledger and accounting practices.
- Increase attention to detail and organizational ability.
- Administrative experience.
- Volunteer Experience: Some experience with Mission Waco preferred.
