Job Description

Summary/Objective:

The Inspector will provide quality control and assurance throughout all phases of the production process beginning with raw materials and ending with the final product.

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Conducts routine visual inspections and specified tests on raw materials in-process goods and finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
Performs material sampling and testing as required.
Prepares and maintains project documentation including quantity calculations.
Provides support for residency audits and ensures compliance with requirements.
Enters data and updates records in SiteManager/AASHTOWARE Project.
Tracks contractor time and activities for accurate project management.
Creates detailed environmental inspection reports.
Verifies utility locations and collaborates with team members and client companies to ensure accurate site information.
Tests inspects and approves raw materials in accordance with established quality specifications.
Identifies defects in materials and manufacturing processes through observation and testing.
Applies statistical methods to test product samples evaluating the quality of full product batches before delivery to clients or customers.
Compares inspection and test results to company quality standards reporting findings to supervisors for analysis and further action.
Develops maintains and updates logs charts and forms that detail quality levels inspection data and results of specialized quality studies for use by production staff.
Collaborates with supervisors to recommend and implement remedies for products not meeting quality standards.
Maintains comprehensive quality records and documentation as needed.

Competencies:

Thorough understanding of the product and/or process being inspected.
Thorough attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is responsible for supervising construction crews and teams to ensure work is completed to specifications. However the position does not manage any individuals.

Work Environment:

The Inspector will frequently operate in outdoor settings and must be prepared for a range of weather conditions from extreme heat to cold. Work locations will vary from highly traveled urban roads to remote to undeveloped areas.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. Employee will need good vision to see their surroundings; glasses are acceptable. This position requires the ability to lift weight occasionally. The employee may need to walk through rough terrains.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This position requires flexibility in work hours with the expectation to be present whenever field teams are on-site. The role includes on-call and as-needed availability often exceeding 40 hours per week. Work hours will vary depending on the specific project weather and any project delays.

Travel:

Up to 100% travel. This position moves to job sites; some out of the state travel and overnight may be expected.


Requirements


Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience.

  • Must live in Oklahoma

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering required.

  • Valid U.S. work authorization and driver s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience with SiteManager/AASHTOWARE Project a plus.
