Job Description
Job Title: Certified Welding Inspector
Pay: $26$31/hr DOE
Hours: MondayFriday 6:00 AM3:30 PM (Potential Saturdays; hours may vary based on workload)
Job Type: Temp to Hire
Location: Tulsa OK
Responsibilities:
- Perform visual inspections of welds for compliance with applicable codes (e.g. AWS ASME API) and project specifications.
- Verify proper welding procedures materials and techniques are being used.
- Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).
- Conduct weld inspections using NDT methods such as magnetic particle dye penetrant ultrasonic or radiographic testing.
- Document inspection results issue non-conformance reports and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Collaborate with welders supervisors engineers and clients to resolve welding-related issues.
- Maintain inspection records reports and compliance documentation.
- Monitor and enforce safety and quality standards on job sites or in the fabrication shop.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 35 years of welding inspection experience in industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of welding codes metallurgy and NDT techniques.
- Proficient in reading blueprints welding symbols and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail communication skills and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection tasks efficiently.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to maneuver in a shop or yard assembly environment.
- Requires extensive walking and standing and the ability to climb ladders and scaffolding as well as crouch twist and stoop.
