Job Description
What will you be doing
As a Tooling Design Engineer you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and delivery of mechanical test fixtures and rigs to support validation activities at both component and system levels. This hands-on role requires strong design skills a practical understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work across disciplines and with external partners.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Design and develop mechanical test fixtures and test rigs to support component and system-level testing.
- Lead the scoping and definition of test rig requirements based on technical objectives and system constraints.
- Assist with initial prototype builds and hands-on rig commissioning.
- Manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support Design and Release (DnR) documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to align test setups with mechanical electrical and thermal system requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure components are procured and built to specification.
- Implement lessons learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance rig performance safety and reusability.

Qualifications :
Experience skills and qualifications required:
- Background in mechanical or systems engineering roles ideally within the automotive or aerospace sectors.
- Proven experience in test rig or fixture design for mechanical or electromechanical systems.
- Familiarity with system-level validation processes and requirements capture.
- Proficient in Siemens NX or other 3D CAD tools for mechanical design and assembly integration.
- Strong understanding of engineering BOMs and product release workflows (DnR).
- Ability to collaborate within cross-disciplinary teams and communicate technical details effectively.
