Patent Agent Biotechnology & Life Sciences
Location: Boston MA
Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Compensation: $200000 Competitive & Based on Experience
About the Opportunity
HireNow Staffing is working with a nationally recognized intellectual property practice to find a skilled Patent Agent with a strong foundation in the life sciences. If you have a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology Biochemistry Genetics or a related field and a passion for protecting biotech innovation through strategic patent work this opportunity is built for you.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced collaborative environment and wants to work with some of the most cutting-edge biotech companies in the world.
What Youll Do

Draft file and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors

Support attorneys in managing IP portfolios and conducting prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses

Help develop strategies around patentability enforcement and due diligence for complex biotechnology innovations

Communicate directly with inventors in-house counsel and technical experts to refine inventions and claims

Prepare technical documents and written opinions related to patentability invalidity and infringement
What Were Looking For
Ph.D. in a biological science (Molecular Biology Biochemistry Genetics or related field)
At least 3 years of hands-on patent experience including domestic and international prosecution
Experience drafting opinions in the biotechnology space is highly preferred
Strong analytical and technical writing skills
Excellent verbal communication and attention to detail
Active registration to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Bonus Points For
Experience working in a national law firm or top-tier IP boutique
Familiarity with chemical or pharmaceutical patent landscapes
A strong academic background and passion for emerging technologies
