Job Description
Golf Operations Intern
Potomac Shores Golf Clubis excited to offer an outstanding internship opportunityfor aspiring golf professionals! This position provides valuable hands-on experiencein all aspects of golf operations while allowing interns to develop their teaching and leadership skills in a professional golf environment.
Qualifications Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Enrolled in or recently completed a PGA Golf Management (PGM) programor related field (preferred)
- Passion for the golf industry with a strong desire to learn
- Excellent customer service and communicationskills
- Basic computer proficiency
- Dependable and professional demeanor
- Prior golf operations experience is a plus but not required
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily golf operations including tee sheet management merchandising and customer service
- Support golf instruction programs including private lessons and group clinics with the opportunity to earn additional income
- Assist with tournament operationsusing Golf Genius(experience preferred)
- Help manage the golf cart fleet practice facilities and course operations
- Assist with player development programs junior golf and member engagement initiatives
- Perform PGA PGM activitiesand gain exposure to the career path of a golf professional
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer serviceto enhance the guest experience
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the golf shop and facility operations
- Process customer reservationsand assist with check-in
- Coordinate individual group and tournament playalongside the professional staff
- Work closely with the Marshall and Starterto monitor pace of play safety and course conditions
- Provide exceptional guest serviceand create a welcoming golf experience
- Other duties as assigned by management
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- PGA Associate or working toward PGA membership(preferred but not required)
- Basic knowledge of golf operations rules and etiquette
- Experience with Golf Genius tournament softwareis a plus
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
