Position Overview:

The Single family (SF) division is seeking a highly skilled and motivated talent to manage the valuation process of mortgage loans and guarantee assets/obligations. The ideal talent will combine a deep understanding of pricing strong technical skillsets and significant knowledge of the mortgage related business as well as analytical statistical models to execute monthly process to produce the fair values for a Single-Family loan Portfolio of over $3 trillion in mortgage assets including obtaining whole loan prices and market insights from dealers and inquiring rationale for prices outside certain thresholds analyzing monthly fair value results conducting comprehensive research on variances from various control executions and documenting conclusion from the research. Ensure appropriate staffing and organization structure for their area. Responsible for the activities and development of staff in their assigned area.

Our Impact:

The Single-Family CFO Pricing and Valuation team produces the fair value of $3 trillion of mortgage loans that is disclosed in our financial statements and used by various downstream teams as Mark-to-market or reporting/analytic inputs. The team works closely with Enterprise Risk Management team to ensure the valuation methodology used in this process is appropriate and the fair value generated by this process looks reasonable. As the Pricing and Valuation process is supported by numerous End User Computing System (EUCs) several applications and models the team frequently works with IT and Model teams for impact analysis whenever changes are made into the models or upstream applications.

Your Impact:

This role manages the process to assign the fair value of over 13 million loans. The loan valuation can be sourced from upstream systems or dealer pricing process. Dealer valuation process includes obtaining whole loan prices and market insights from dealers and inquiring rationale for prices outside certain thresholds assess the dealers performance. The manager role also executes/oversees guarantee assets/obligations fair value process performs flux analysis identifies issues and raises solutions to resolve the problem or satisfy the stated needs documents research conclusion understands the changes in upstream systems to make corresponding updates to our EUCs/SAS programs facilitates appropriate handoffs and supervises the item through to its resolution works independently while driving and leading assignments from concept through deployment/automation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or accounting system or relevant experience.

  • 8 years related valuation/accounting system or computer science experience

  • Proficient at SAS UNIX Python tools.

  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Access Micro Soft Visual)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to produce results in a challenging environment with limited structure and guidance

  • Phenomenal organizational tools and understanding of standard methodology

Preferred skills:

  • Experience in the secondary mortgage market is beneficial

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $130000 - $194000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position experience skill set internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
