Job Description:
Lutz Daily & Brain LLC is seeking an Sr. Electrical Designer to provide complex electrical drawing packages executed in AutoCAD software package to support the project schedules. These projects can be in commercial telecommunications industrial utility petrochemical material handling food processing agricultural power electrical distribution and municipal facilities. This position is in Overland Park KS. Candidates must be willing to lead teams and teach how to perform lighting design power layouts simple electrical system design and understand and follow the NFPA NEC codes and OSHA standards. This will offer qualified candidates the opportunity to grow in experience and capabilities. There will be opportunities for cross discipline coordination into civil structural and mechanical drawings. A self-motivating personality with good communication skills is desired as they may be leading the entire design team across disciplines.
Position duties include:
- Developing designs from engineering conceptual discussions and sketches.
- Validating and teaching lighting design using software systems.
- Developing complete building lighting systems and circuiting.
- Creating one-lines from circuit schedules.
- Developing wiring diagrams from schematic diagrams.
- Developing panel schedules based on the circuit schedules.
- Coordinating electrical packages and directing small teams of CADD staff.
- Working with designers and engineers to complete the project on schedule.
- Mentoring designers and communicating company standards.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- A minimum of 10 to 20 years experience with substation or power plant design projects is preferred.
- Willing to travel 5 to 10% of the time.
- Advanced understanding of:
