CTI Grants and Partnership Manager Salem High School Salem Public Schools Salem MA SY 2025-2026

Salem High School is the recipient of a Career Technical Initiative grant from Commonwealth Corporation on behalf of the Baker Administration to increase a skilled workforce in the trades through third shift programs.

This initiative announced by Governor Baker seeks to address the persistent need for skilled labor in construction trades and manufacturing. Commonwealth Corporation administers these funds in hopes of eliminating the skills gap facing employers by providing an opportunity for youth and adults to retrain for skilled occupations as well as transforming vocational high schools into Career Technical Institutes that run three shifts a day to bring more high school students and adults into the program.

As part of a multi-year strategy CTI plans to train 20000 new skilled workers in key trades and technical jobs. Among the grants approved by the Workforce Skills Cabinet in 2021 35 new career pathway programs and 22 expansions of career pathway programs at 10 vocational-technical schools will provide training and job placement for more than 800 adults.

What Youll Do:
Salem High School seeks an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to serve as the Director of Operations and Grants for the Salem Technical Institute. This is a grant-funded part-time position beginning July 1 2025 working with a diverse population of adult learners in a comprehensive urban school setting. The Director of Operations and Grants is responsible for financial monitoring student data systems grant compliance and reporting process improvement and operational oversight of STI evening programs.

This role supports the daily operations of the STI program at Salem High School and works in collaboration with the STI Director of Workforce Development CTE Director and instructors. The Director of Operations and Grants plays a key role in ensuring accountability transparency and operational efficiency contributing to the long-term sustainability of the program.

As a professional the Director of Operations and Grants will display a collegial spirit that supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with the educational goals and philosophies of our school community. Moreover they will be fully committed to continuously learning improving reflecting and working together to ensure that all Salem High School Third Shift students achieve at high levels in a culturally responsive learning environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage grant-funded program budgets ensuring compliance with funder guidelines and efficient use of resources
  • Maintain and report on student data in systems such as Aspen and Apricot (CommCorp)
  • Generate monthly and year-end reports for grant funders and internal stakeholders
  • Support the STI Director of Workforce Development with the day-to-day operations of the evening adult education program
  • Coordinate logistics and processes that ensure smooth program delivery (e.g. scheduling facilities communication)
  • Support the recruitment enrollment and retention of adult learners in collaboration with MassHire and other partners
  • Ensure all financial and programmatic documentation is maintained accurately and securely
  • Assist in developing and implementing operational improvements across STI programs
  • Represent STI in meetings with partner organizations funders and other community stakeholders
  • Assist in the creation of program materials including newsletters brochures and web/social media content
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the STI Director of Workforce Development CTE Director or Executive Principal

Job Requirements

  • Experience managing or reporting on grant-funded budgets or programs
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proficiency with data systems spreadsheets and reporting tools
  • Familiarity with workforce development adult education or technical training environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with process improvement or operational oversight
  • Current authorization to work in the U.S.

Preferred qualifications

  • Masters degree in education nonprofit management public administration or related field
  • Knowledge of Chapter 74 vocational regulations and/or CommCorp grant programs
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) preferred
  • Experience working with adult learners and nontraditional students
  • Familiarity with Aspen Apricot or similar student information systems

Work Year: Grant funded: July 1st 2025 - July 31st

FTE/Hours: Part-time Evening hours and weekends as assigned.

Salary:$65/hour

Reports to:Director of Workforce Development CTE/CTI Director Executive Principal Salem High School School Superintendent.
