Human Resources Coordinator

Reports To:

FLSA Status: Exempt

Terms of Employment:

Twelve months/240 days; salary paid on administrative scale and work year to be established by the Board

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator is a multifaceted leadership role that combines instructional support with comprehensive human resources responsibilities to enhance teacher effectiveness and employee success across the district. This position is responsible for designing and delivering professional development coaching and mentoring teachers managing new teacher induction programs and supporting alternative certification pathways. The coordinator also oversees college internship placements and engages with stakeholders to promote instructional quality. In addition to these educational duties the role includes key HR functions such as interpreting personnel policies assisting with recruitment and vacancy announcements organizing attendance at job fairs and supporting employee relations initiatives. The ideal candidate will hold a Masters Degree in Education or a related field possess five or more years of administrative experience and demonstrate a strong track record as a successful classroom teacher. They must also have extensive knowledge of HR management practices personnel regulations and recruitment strategies along with excellent communication leadership and team-building skills. The coordinator must be adept at using data to guide decision-making and exhibit a high level of initiative discretion and professionalism in a dynamic people-focused environment.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Education or another related field
  • 5 or more years of experience in administration
  • Proven experience as a successful classroom teacher
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
  • Such an alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Duties:

  • Professional Development Design and Delivery: Develop and facilitate targeted professional development opportunities aligned with identified teacher needs incorporating best practices and current research in education.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to teachers offering individualized support to address specific areas for growth.
  • New Teacher Induction: Design and lead new teacher induction programs to support successful transition into the classroom.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with teachers administrators parents and other stakeholders regarding teacher quality initiatives and progress.
  • Managing College Internships: Oversee the placement supervision and evaluation of college interns ensuring a meaningful and productive internship experience that aligns with educational goals.
  • Mentoring for Alternative Certification: Mentor teachers seeking certification through alternative certification programs providing guidance resources and support to help them achieve certification and excel in their teaching roles.
  • Assists with the interpretation of personnel policies and programs to administrators and staff.
  • Assist with preparation and dissemination of District vacancy announcements.
  • Maintains a schedule of recruitment trips job fairs etc. and coordinates attendance at those events deemed necessary.
  • Routinely interacts with school administrators and staff students parents business persons government officials and agencies etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Specific Job Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of human resources management functions programs policies procedures and systems.
  • Knowledge in the development planning organization implementation and management of personnel programs and practices designed to attract retain and reward qualified employees.
  • Knowledge of the standards regulations and laws relating to personnel activities.
  • Knowledge of all requirements related to personnel activities e.g. recruitment and selection safety standards record keeping equal employment etc.
  • Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in aiding with employee relations and recruitment activities.
  • Ability to lead and influence others build consensus and motivate teams towards shared goals.
  • Proficiency in analyzing student achievement data to inform decision-making.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles to develop effective professional development programs.
  • Possess and utilize excellent team-building skills
  • Understanding of various assessment methods and their application to teacher evaluation
  • Demonstrate a high level of initiative in job performance

Physical Requirements:

Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis or routine keyboard operations.

Working Conditions:

  • Generally the job requires 80% sitting 10% walking and 10% standing.
  • Requires fine finger dexterity to use office equipment office technology and maintain accurate filing systems.
  • Effectively coordinate a variety of difficult technical administrative functions at a level requiring extensive independent decision-making within established rules policies and procedures
  • Must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • May experience constant interruptions inflexible deadlines and changes to normal routines.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet special project deadlines including working 1-2 evenings per month for Board and other public meetings.

The performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Boards policy on Evaluation of Support Service Personnel.
